can i say how fucking weird it is that loki s1 clearly presented the tva as a f4scist organization and s2 completely erased that with the whole "we can change this place" plot

A little reminder that when everything went to hell and Loki found himself alone with a really deadly danger, and also with a feeling of impossible fear and loneliness, it happened because Sylvie just left.
When he so desperately needed someone around, someone.
She just left him to die.
Because he didn't have the tempad to escape from the destroying TVA like she did.
Even if she didn't know it was going to happen, the fact remains that she left him.
And does anyone really find such cruelty romantic?

Welcome to my Mega Problematic Sylvie post
I wanted to make a list of everything problematic about Sylvie in s1 and s2 because she gets away with whatever she wants and it bugs me to no end that she never takes accountability for any of the pain she causes.
You have been warned. So let's get into it.
Tumblr media
1. Sylvie’s way is the only way and she expects everyone else to just bend to her will without complaint
Tumblr media
2. She is physically mentally and emotionally incapable of trusting anyone besides herself
Tumblr media
3. She uses other people's emotions to manipulate them into getting what she wants
Tumblr media
4. She refuses to even entertain the possibility that anything besides her own opinion is correct
Tumblr media
5. She criticizes others' attempts to clean up the mess she caused while she herself does absolutely nothing about it
Tumblr media
6. Always looking to ruin and run, taking the easy way out and avoiding any accountability
Tumblr media
7. Puts her own need for revenge above the well-being of everyone else in the multiverse
Tumblr media
8. Blames everyone else for the problems she herself caused
Tumblr media
9. Insults everyone at the TVA for their lack of empathy despite it being the exact reason she didn't want to return in the first place. Every critique she delivers just illustrates how much of a hypocrite she is
Tumblr media
10. Berates Mobius and all the people who are actually trying to fix her problem even though they never once blamed her for the mess they're in
Tumblr media
11. Acts like she's doing everyone a favor just for being there and insulting everyone when in reality, Loki had to ask multiple times before finally getting her to return
Tumblr media
12. Never willing to put in more effort than just destroying everything and walking away
Tumblr media
13. Even when directly asked for her help, Sylvie straight up refuses. She couldn't care less about anything besides her McDonald's employee-of-the-month badge
Tumblr media
14. Sylvie gaslights Loki into thinking they're the same, that she's not in the wrong because they're both only thinking of themselves. In reality, Sylvie is thinking only of going back to her own timeline, alone, while Loki is thinking only of making his friends happy, because that's what makes him happy too.
Tumblr media
15. While being completely unsympathetic to Loki struggling with his greatest fear, Sylvie makes the decision that Loki's friend's are all better off where they are now. But is it really better for them, or just better for Sylvie?
Tumblr media
16. And now, after 11 episodes and countless requests for Sylvie's help, she actually cares about the rest of the multiverse. And yet it's still solely because her own timeline is finally in danger
Tumblr media
17. When Loki ends up sacrificing himself to solve the problem Sylvie created, her only response is a joyful shrug that she's now happy, alone, and responsibility-free.
Overall, I know Sylvie's only purpose as a character is to be a darker mirror of Loki and everything she does is understandably informed by her trauma. This is likely a result of having a limited-episode-series and having all male/not diverse writers creating female characters. Sylvie is used only as a comparison to Loki before he met Mobius, and unfortunately is never given any thoughtful character moments like Loki had showing how he was aware that his actions hurt others. In 1x1, Loki talks about how he doesn’t enjoy hurting people and only does it to maintain control. The only time we ever see Sylvie reconsider her actions is when she didn’t kill Timely, which I think is more because she saw herself in Timely as someone who didn’t want to be controlled by their ‘destiny,’ not because she developed any kindness or compassion toward him.
I understand the fact that Sylvie was never given someone like Mobius to allow her the opportunity to change like Loki did, but I don't think that should excuse her causing so much pain and being so self-centered. Sylvie never trusted or cared about anyone and that's also my biggest argument against Sylki; her loving or being driven by anyone besides herself is just so inconsistent with her entire character.
Anyway, my purpose here was not to be hateful or to search for any reason to criticize Sylvie, but instead to look critically at her character since I've seen a lot of people praise her as the strong, independent female Loki whose behavior can always be forgiven. Unfortunately, the way she was written is that Sylvie turned her own trauma into everybody else's problem and they all spent 2 seasons trying to clean up her mess. That's my take thank you and goodnight

Anyway if you want a show about a divine entity with six episodes per season that actually ends with a gay kiss at the end of season 2 just watch Good Omens.

thinking about the clothing choices in loki s2
thinking about loki and mobius always dressing up in silly little outfits, just the two of them going on missions and theyre always matching, with loki adding little touches of his own personality. mobius knows how he works and he lets him, they might be working for the tva, but theyre allowed to be their own people.
thinking about sylvie, still in her sick as fuck looking outfit from last season, it's battered and there's knife marks in it, it's old and it's sylvie holding onto who she was. even in her work uniform, she kept her old clothes, the only remnant of who she was
thinking about b-15 still wearing a minutemen uniform, but working exclusively to help the timeline, working with OB to help save it, acting like a leader but not defining herself as one the way ravonna did, she's not in her own office, working secretly with goals that she barely shares with anyone else, b-15 is on the ground, she's working hands on and not hiding information
thinking about ravonna, who's clothes look slightly off in the timeline she's in, who is working for a goal that only sets the tva back, as the episode goes on her clothes get more and more disheveled as she looses her trust in miss minutes
thinking about victor, who looks nothing like he who remains, who has a grey streak in his hair and a stutter and just wants to create something new, who is a scientist at his core, not a leader, not a public speaker, but a scientist

Unpopular opinion time: I think Loki's arc in the movies was excellent and we didn't need to drag him back from the dead to give him a series that ends with him completing exactly the same arc. Again.

Loved the fact that Loki pruned himself right in front of Sylvie
Knowing that it could not just save him but also bring him back to Mobius

My tiktok fyp is full of Loki x Sylvie edits and I hate them
"He is so in love 😍"........
Why? Nothing Silvie has done has warranted a love connection
They are physically arguing and fighting every other time they are on screen together..
He cries and is miserable whenever she is around
Please Marvel just don't let them end up together
I don't care about the Loki x Morbius stuff just don't force a romance where there clearly isn't one

a message to everyone from a loki veteran, having 12+ years experience in the field, the most important aspect that makes s2 so much better than s1 is that the focus is on loki’s PLATONIC relationships with the people around him. not sylki, not lokius. he is learning how to care for and TO BE CARED FOR by people around him. THAT is what makes it good, not the prospect of a weird romance or worse, selfcest.

Ik tom seems quite passionate about using his real hair now, when he's Loki, but he's gonna have to start wearing wigs if he wants to look younger than Thor with that receding hairline 😭

Did you think some Lokius fans were delusional ? You haven't seen everything yet ! Some Lokius fans are really crazy. Here is the reconstruction of a post that one of them made with the comments below :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No. You do not dream. This is literally a pro Lokius rehash of Loki's sacrifice scene in the last episode. And the worst part is that they act as if it was the original scene ! I reconstructed this post because perhaps some of you blocked the poster of this one, but in case that is not the case, here is the original post :
Are they aware that the original scene was not edited in this way ? No, because they are delusional at this stage, it’s not possible... This is the real scene :
Tumblr media
Yes, I agree with the first comment ! I mean "that look Loki gives" is really beautiful. You know... this look :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And when Loki starts to leave in the end of time, here are the last shots of where his friends are :
Tumblr media
When Loki goes to the end of time, the camera focuses mainly on Sylvie. Not Mobius, as the last comment claims and Lokius winds up... That Mobius his in the middle doesn't matter, since when Loki literally leaves at the end of time, the camera isn't focused on him at all (like desperately trying to make this montage believe). The only real face the camera is focused on is literally Sylvie.

I'm still feeling heartbroken by the Loki series finale yesterday. And as a Loki fan I've been here before, but this time its a little different.
This is a different experience than for Infinity War. This time I actually got to see Loki becoming the central figure in the series, form relationships with people that I grew to care about, and then fight for them with every piece of intellect and magic that he has. And for me that's an important difference. We got to see him use his magic, we actually got to go on the journey with him as he tried to develop the skills he needed to save everyone. We saw that he spent centuries gaining the technical knowledge he needed, and how many times he tried to make things work. And then how each of the different avenues he tried got slowly blocked off until he was trapped with a single impossible choice. And it was only then that we saw him make a decision to sacrifice himself for the people he loves. And at this point in the episode I could buy that. I could see how he had come to this decision and exhausted all other possibilities.
The also gave him the time he needed for the audience to see it coming. Not too far in advance, but not just 30 seconds then BAM! And we were allowed the time to feel it afterwards too. And the other characters, the ones Loki had tried so hard to protect, recognised what he had done. The whole tone of the last minutes of the episode reinforced the importance of his sacrifice and the way the characters were feeling mirrored that of the audience and allowed us some time to say goodbye.
